Homecoming Survey
Evergreen Cemetery, Incorporation Homecoming Survey
Dear Families and Community Members:
As the Evergreen Cemetery, previously known as the Altamonte and Fern Park Community Cemetery, continues to grow and undergo changes—landmark/trees disappear and become inclusive with burials from surrounding areas—some have asked if there is a possibility of having a Homecoming Event to celebrate our heritage. The celebration would be to pay homage to all relatives and loved ones buried at Evergreen. It would also be an opportunity for families to tour the grounds, find ancestors, and learn more about Evergreen’s history. Some of you might not be aware that a “shotgun house” is presently being constructed on the Evergreen grounds. The “shotgun house” will showcase the cemetery’s history beginning from the 1800s to the present. Be proud, East Altamonte has a lot of untold history! This celebration would be planned for the Weekend after Thanksgiving 2019, Weekend after Christmas 2019, or the New Year Holiday of 2020.
We are excited about the possibility of a Homecoming, but we will need to have input from you to determine if there is enough interest to proceed with our plans. Let us be very clear, this would mean that all who attend would have to pay for all events at the cemetery on the day of the Homecoming celebration. The plans would be to have food, games, and items to sell, which means a percentage of sales would benefit the cemetery.
Therefore, we are asking that you complete the following survey and return it to Evergreen Cemetery, Post Office Box 180382, Casselberry, Florida 32718-0382 or complete the survey online at evergreencemetery.us.
This initial survey is to determine interest.
Thank you for your input and support.
