Dear families and friends,
EverGreen Cemetery, Inc., honors the custom of families and visitors expressing love and devotion for departed loved ones by decorating graves. It is becoming more difficult for maintenance to be done, effective, December 1, 2025, there are some changes to the courtesy policy. We at EverGreen Cemetery are proud of the improvements and we want all who are laid to rest at this serene place to be remembered as history is preserved. It is not our intention to be disrespectful of any gravesite or intentionally disrespectful of your wishes; however, the cemetery requires order and that is why we are volunteer caregivers.
These changes will be updated in the EverGreen Brochure, the website, and the bulletin board, it is a “COURTESY” extended to all.
The following changes to the courtesy policy are designed to ensure both the beauty and safety of our cemetery grounds:
- Floral Arrangements: Fresh flowers are encouraged and welcomed, but they will be removed when they become unsightly. Artificial flowers are allowed but must be placed in approved containers and placed at the top of headstone.
- Decorative Items: Items such as balloons, pinwheels, wood, metal, mulch, grave blankets, rocks, solar lights, toys, stuffed animals, souvenir trinkets, chains, candles, signs, wind chimes, shepherd’s hooks, fencing and borders, ceramic and porcelain, glass items are not permitted as they pose a safety hazard and can interfere with maintenance.
- Seasonal Decorations: Holiday decorations may be placed two weeks before the holiday and must be removed within two weeks after the holiday.
- Cleanup Schedule: General cleanups will occur quarterly, during which items that do not comply with the policy will be removed.
We understand that these changes may require adjustments, and we appreciate your cooperation and understanding. By adhering to these guidelines, we can maintain a dignified and safe environment for all visitors and honor the memory of those at rest.
Please note that the visitors’ gate has been left unlocked for your convenience. It is important to us that you have access to visiting your loved ones at their final resting place. However, we ask that you take into consideration the following reminders and safety precautions:
